GT40P/1007 - The Ford France Car

GT40P/1007 was completed on 28th August 1965. Painted in the colours of Ford France, it raced at Le Mans in 1966 but failed to finish. Prior to this event, it had also starred in the film "Un Homme et Une Femme".

At one stage, GT40P/1007 was fitted with a 7 litre engine and had a luggage hatch cut into the tail section.

Restored by Bryan Wingfield in the mid 1980's, the car still resides in France and is maintained more-or-less in its original racing colours.

In the first picture (above left), GT40P/1007 is having its bodywork fitted, note the early style nose which was changed shortly after. The other four black and white pictures show the car during preparation for Le Mans 1966 at Ford Advanced Vehicles.
