GT40P/1008 was
built to race specification and extensively tested by the motoring
press. After the GT40 win at Le Mans
in 1966, 1008 was turned into a lookalike of the winning car, 1046 and
then, in 1969, the car was rebuilt to look like the legendary 1075.
After spending many years alternating
between the Donnington Museum and the Ford plant at Swansea, 1008 was restored
back to its original configuration and its original colour scheme of
Linden Green.
Featured in many magazines in recent years,
1008 is now back in storage in England.
