After the race, the car spent some time touring with Carroll Shelby's "Cobra Caravan". It was then shipped back to England where it remained, unused, until 1968.

In 1968, J.W. Automotive were short of a car for the Spa 1000 kms race. 1004 was taken out of storage and rebuilt to Gulf specification and renumbered 1084. Due to the fact that it was an early chassis, the car was always going to be slightly heavier than its sister cars which had some steel panels replaced with aluminium. 

1084 only raced once for the team, at Spa in 1968 and finished 4th, 1075 being the winner.

The car, which is well known in Britain, is owned by Martin Colvill who regularly races the car, still in Gulf colours. It has recently been fitted with new body panels and looks every inch a Gulf car.
